Welcome to Baobab Therapy for Kids
Baobab Therapy for Kids is a Paediatric Occupational Therapy Practice, located in Box Hill North in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We look forward to working with your family and child to promote confidence and skills. Our qualified therapists assist children with a variety of developmental, emotional and learning issues.
We chose the name Baobab for the clinic as it is a unique tree transplanted from Africa to Australia; like the founder of the clinic Clare Edgecome and her daughter Nicola Stampa. The tree provides shelter, nutrients and comfort, just like we strive to do at the clinic. We are located at 31 Trawool Street, Box Hill North. Please feel free to call 9898 8595 for a chat.
Clare Edgecome née Stampa is the Senior Occupational Therapist at Baobab. She graduated with a B.Sc (Occupational Therapy) from the University of Cape Town in South Africa and followed her passion by working at the Red Cross Children's Hospital with in-patients initially and then as a Senior Clinician in the Child and Family Psychiatric Day Centre and Learning Disability Clinic.
If you’ve ever wondered ‘What is Occupational Therapy?’ we’re sure you are not alone!
Many people ask us about our role as ‘OTs’, or Occupational Therapists, and exactly what it involves.
Would Your Child Benefit from Occupational Therapy?
If you have noticed your child having difficulties in certain areas of their life, whether at school or at home, it may be helpful to take a closer look to determine whether your child could benefit from Occupational Therapy.
At Baobab Therapy for Kids we specifically work with children offering Occupational Therapy (known as O.T) in our sensory gym. We also provide occasional home or school visits as necessary.
